Nestled in the quiet countryside of Tako, Chiba, Pon Pon Cafe is a surprisingly stylish cafe that feels like it appeared out of nowhere. Surrounded by open fields and lush nature, the cafe is housed in a beautifully renovated traditional Japanese home.

This beautifully renovated farmhouse is a perfect harmony of traditional Japanese architecture and Scandinavian design_a seamless fusion known as Japandi.
Although it’s only been open for a few months, Pon Pon Cafe is already creating quite a buzz. Many visitors make the day trip from afar, often enjoying a scenic countryside drive just to spend a relaxing afternoon here. Or thanks to its convenient location-just a short drive from Narita International Airport-some even drop by right after landing in Japan.

The menu at Pon Pon Cafe is curated by designer Kazuya Sase drawing on his experiences living in various countries around the world. He also cooks at cafe! Interestingly, while many of the dishes are inspired by international cuisines, the ingredients are deeply local.
Fresh vegetables grown right in Tako are used generously, and some of the herbs even come from the garden of Kazuya’s grandmother!! This thoughtful blend of global flavors and hometown producee gives the food a truly special character-rooted in memory, yet open to the world.
